FFUND is proud to have assisted the SmartDAVF consortium with securing a €1 million Eurostars grant to advance the development of an innovative vascular access graft system aimed at improving the safety, performance, and longevity of hemodialysis treatments.
About the SmartDAVF consortium
Coordinated by Dutch SME XS Innovations, the consortium brings together a strong combination of industrial and clinical expertise, with partners including Danish biomaterials company Biomodics, Odense University Hospital, and Leiden University Medical Center. The project will address key limitations of current vascular access solutions by integrating novel technologies such as flow-regulating valves, drug-eluting biomaterials, and next-generation graft geometries designed to enhance patency and reduce complications.
How did FFUND help?
FFUND coordinated the preparation of the Eurostars proposal. Despite a challenging and condensed timeline, the collaboration proved highly effective and impactful, as highlighted by XS Innovations’ CEO, Toon Stilma:
