The EIC Transition instrument is aimed at innovations that have research results at TRL 3–4 from eligible EU-funded projects and want to validate the technology (TRL 5–6) and build a business case.
Who can apply?
- Single entities: SMEs, start-ups, spin-offs, research organizations
- Consortia:
- Minimum 2, maximum 5 independent legal entities
- Entities must come from at least 2 different Member States/Associated Countries
- SMEs must be actively involved in commercialisation
- Must be based on results from an eligible prior EU-funded project: EIC Pathfinder (H2020 or Horizon Europe), ERC Proof of Concept, Horizon 2020 LEIT & Societal Challenges RIAs, Horizon Europe Pillar II RIAs, Horizon Europe/2020 Research Infrastructures and EDF research projects (civil applications only)
Funding
- €0.5–2.5M (100% grant, lump sum)
- Duration: 1–3 years

- A clear route to market & IP strategy
